The prophets of Yahweh were first and foremost faithful theologians. They were also skilled in the use of language in service to the proclamation of the word of Yahweh. Reading their prophetic words with an eye toward their homiletical strategies will grant us a deepened appreciation for their artistry and potency. It will also offer us opportunity to consider how pastors can faithfully use the same strategies in preaching Christ today.
